San Francisco Cannabis Licensing Update
The City and County of San Francisco is currently considering updates to the city code regarding the regulation of medical cannabis businesses. Cannabis businesses and individuals who meet eligibility criteria and have operations prior to September 26, 2017 must register with the Office of Cannabis by November 9, 2017 in order to receive local authorization, which can be presented to the state for a state cannabis license.
The Board of Supervisors is also considering comprehensive legislation that will severely impact cannabis businesses. San Francisco cannabis businesses and city residents should send letters to their representatives regarding proposed ordinances and participate in meetings of the Rules Committee on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 1pm at City Hall, and the Land Use Committee, on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1pm at City Hall.
