Marijuana Business Licencing Process
For the licensing process, there are going to be state and local requirements. Depending on which class of marijuana you want to apply for, either medical or retail, you might need to go to the local government or the state first, but you’re always going to need generally the same documents. Those include an operating agreement, a lease, floor plans for the premises that you want to operate in, any promissory notes if you’re borrowing money, and a purchase agreement if you’re purchasing a business rather than starting your own.
The process itself is pretty complicated, and there are always going to be extra requirements depending on your local government. You might have zoning processes or building or fire department regulations to comply with.
Here at McAllister Garfield, we’ve done thousands of these business license applications, so please give us a call if you have any questions, and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.
